House of Hope was established as a safe space for Venezuelan refugees, at-risk teens and underprivileged youth who live in the vulnerable community of Comuna 13 in Medellin, Colombia. The house offers various classes and programs that focus on personal development and character growth that enhance the children’s lives, inspire hope & positive change, resulting in a better self, community, and world.
Every week House of Hope reaches over 500 Venezuelan and Colombian children and youth, ages 4-18 years old that live in what used to be one of the most notorious & dangerous neighborhoods of Colombia. Although the community has reinvented itself from drug and gang wars, to some areas filled with beautiful graffiti art, tours, and transformation, crime, poverty, and violence remain. The House of Hope's mission is to love and bring hope in those dark places while providing a safe space for the children and teens to dream big, learn, and grow physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Today’s children and youth are tomorrow’s leaders. The House of Hope team recognize this and work to serve as a catalyst by tackling the challenges that stand in the way of underprivileged children and youth living in vulnerable communities and families. The House of Hope's greatest passion is to love each students, and inspire them to discover their talents and true potential, while helping them develop the necessary confidence, drive, and determination to thrive in life, and make a difference in the world.
